Welcome to Missouri Mondays!
Last week Missouri voters in every single county and every congressional district resoundingly rejected Amendments 4 & 5 put on the ballot by Governor Kehoe and his GOP supermajority. These two measures are among the least popular constitutional amendments in Missouri history, yet Gov. Kehoe has already vowed this defeat was not the end especially for eliminating income tax.
In November will be voting on Proposition A, Gov Kehoe’s power grab congressional district maps and on another abortion ban despite overturning one in 2024.
We cannot accept politicians who repeatedly ignore our will and silence our voices to please their campaign donors. In order to make lasting change, we have to change who we elect. It will take hard work but the momentum is on our side!

The fight for fair maps is not over!! Missourians delivered 305,968 signatures to the Missouri Secretary of State to put politicians’ gerrymandered map on the ballot in 2026. Local election authorities have completed their review, and Secretary of State Denny Hoskins has all the information he needs to certify the People Not Politicians referendum for the November ballot. As expected, Hoskins is making a last desperate attempt to silence the people’s voice in Missouri. We knew this was coming, of course, but just so we're clear this underhanded tactic is predictable, pathetic, and we WILL NOT accept it. This year, Election Protection is more important than ever. Join us for a reception benefiting our EP program, and come together with other voting rights advocates as we gather in fellowship, look back on 20 years of Election Protection, honor some of the wonderful people who have contributed to this critical work including decades-long KC Election Protection Coordinators Pat Jones Macklin and Anita Russell, and raise funds to ensure that this program continues in Missouri for decades to come.
