Missourians for Constitutional Freedom is a statewide coalition of organizations and concerned citizens from across the state working to establish the right for all Missourians to make decisions about our own reproductive health care – including abortion, birth control, and miscarriage care – without interference from out-of-touch politicians. We are required to collect 172,000 valid signatures by May 5th, 2024, to ensure Missourians get to vote on ending our cruel abortion ban at the ballot.

MO LEGISLATURE CALLS TO ACTION!
TELL YOUR STATE SENATOR AND REPRESENTATIVE TO REJECT LEGISLATION CHANGING THE CITIZENS INITIATIVE PETITION PROCESS!
There are multiple pieces of legislation moving through the House and the Senate that are meant to sabotage the citizens initiative petition process in multiple ways. Some would change the formula for passage ending majority rule. Others would add so-called “ballot candy” – unrelated provisions intended to deceive voters into supporting legislation they would otherwise likely oppose such as specifying that non-citizens can’t vote and that foreign governments can’t sponsor or finance initiatives, provisions already in existing law.
CALL TO ACTION! – Tell your state representative and senator to protect direct democracy and your voice through the initiative petition process! TELL YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE TO SUPPORT HEALTH INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT FOR DOULA SERVICES IN HCS HBs 2632 & 1446!
HCS HBs 2632 & 1446 would provide health insurance reimbursement of doula services. Doulas provide support in multiple areas of health care and assist mothers and families in the navigation of the pregnancy and have been shown to improve birth outcomes. Missouri currently ranks among the highest of all 50 states in maternal and infant mortality, and HCS HBs 2632 & 1446 could help make a difference and save lives.

Doulas provide an array of support in multiple areas of health care and assist mothers and families in the navigation of the pregnancy.
Additionally, the use of doulas for the childbirth experience can contribute to reduced instances of lower birth weight and reduced NICU stays, and will expand the maternal health workforce.
Missouri ranks among the highest in the U.S. in maternal and infant mortality.
Supported by the Missouri Hospital Association; American College of Obstetricians and the Gynecologists; Health Forward Foundation, and other maternal health advocacy groups.

TELL YOUR SENATOR TO SUPPORT SB 1199 VOTING RIGHTS RESTORATION!

Under current law, no person shall be entitled to vote while confined under a sentence of imprisonment or while on probation or parole after conviction of a felony, until finally discharged from such probation or parole.
This act changes those prohibitions by only prohibiting persons from voting while confined after conviction of a felony or after conviction of a felony or misdemeanor connected with the right of suffrage
Current law also provides that a person who is convicted of any offense shall be disqualified from registering and voting in any election while confined under a sentence of imprisonment. This act limits this provision to felonies only while confined.

HB 1525 and HB 2895 will be heard in Executive Session in the House Elections & Elected Officials Committee on Monday, April 22 at 4:30 p.m. These bills would restore the statewide Presidential Primary which was eliminated in 2022.
HB 2618 is a bill similar to HB 1525 and it will be heard in the House Special Committee on Public Policy on Tuesday, April 23 at 9:00 a.m.
