09/09/24 Missouri Mondays - We won’t back down from Our Fight For Reproductive Freedom! 57 Days and so many ways to get involved! Let’s do this!

Welcome to Missouri Mondays!

The right to vote on Amendment 3 and restore our reproductive freedom is now in the hands of the MO Supreme Court.

On Friday, Circuit Judge Christopher Limbaugh ruled on a lawsuit “filed by anti-abortion activists and lawmakers that [Amendment 3] violated an aspect of Missouri law and that ruling has thrown into question whether the abortion amendment will be on the ballot in November.” Missourians For Constitutional Freedom appealed Judge Limbaugh’s ruling and the case will now be argued in the MO Supreme Court.

Elad Gross, Democratic candidate for MO Atty General, posted last night on Facebook, “Missouri's Supreme Court has set oral argument on whether Amendment 3 stays on the ballot for Tuesday, September 10 at 8:30 AM. Amendment 3 would put reproductive freedom into the state constitution. September 10 is the deadline by which issues must be placed on the ballot, so we will have an answer as to that question on Tuesday.”

The Missourians For Constitutional Freedom campaign gave an update late afternoon on Sunday on the legal challenges and thankfully they are very optimistic about the outcome.

Our opponents have tried everything to sabotage the people’s initiative petition effort to restore our reproductive rights and end our cruel abortion ban. They delayed signature gathering for nearly a year but in less than 3 months we gathered 380,000! Now that we’re facing the deadline to get the measure on the ballot, they’ve filed this desperate legal challenge to stop it.

We are not done fighting! When we fight, we WIN! See details below for ways to get involved to get out the vote for Yes on Amendment 3, put reproductive freedom champions Harris-Walz in the White House, Crystal Quade in the MO Governor’s mansion, and Democrats into every statewide office and fill the state legislature!  We have 57 days!  Let’s do this!

THANK YOU for staying informed and taking action with us each week! Help us spread the word by sharing this email and our Missouri Mondays sign up link: https://www.moactionalliance.com/signup.
