10/07/19 - Missouri Mondays - Thank Rep. Cleaver and tell Sen. Blunt and Hawley to uphold the law!
We are shaken by national news of the actions by the President that led to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi calling for an impeachment inquiry. Here’s a partial list of what we know:
A whistleblower complaint alleges President Trump asked Ukraine for foreign assistance investigating his political rival Joe Biden and used the threat of withholding Ukraine’s congressionally approved taxpayer military aid for Trump’s personal political benefit in the upcoming 2020 election.
The partial transcript of the phone call released by Trump himself confirms the allegations in the whistleblower complaint, that he asked for the favor of the investigation into Biden and did so on the call just after the Ukrainian President brought up the topic of U.S. military aid.
The whistleblower complaint also alleges misuse of intelligence document security protocols, that records of the phone call with Ukraine’s President were moved to a code level security server meant for the most sensitive U.S. intelligence materials making them inaccessible except to those with the highest security clearance.
Trump has since made threatening remarks labeling the whistleblower and those providing the information as treasonous spies and suggested they should be executed as “we used to do in the old days when we were smart”.
On Friday Trump also called on China to investigate Joe Biden. New York Times Oct 4
A second whistleblower with “firsthand knowledge” of key events of Trump’s dealings with Ukraine has come forward with evidence that corroborates the first whistleblower’s allegations. CNN Sept 27
Congressman Emanuel Cleaver has come out in favor of impeachment but Sen. Blunt who sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee said on Sept. 27 he had not read the notes from the President’s call, would wait for further investigation, and yesterday said Trump’s remarks about China should not be taken seriously. Face the Nation Oct 6 Sen. Hawley is calling the whistleblower complaint “another deep state attack” and denounced it as “double and triple hearsay”. KC Star Sept 27

Threatening the whistleblower and putting his life in danger.
