09/23/19 - Missouri Mondays - Support unions on strike for better pay and benefits! Donations needed

Last week UAW Local 31 at the Fairfax General Motors plant in Kansas City, KS joined the nationwide strike against the #1 automaker, shutting down 33 auto assembly plants and 22 parts distribution centers and affecting nearly 50,000.
There’s a lot at stake, not only for the UAW but for all unions and workers, including better wages, affordable quality healthcare, a path for seniority for temporary workers and more. Shirley Mata, UAW Local 249 leader explains, “We can not continue to have workers hired as temporary and be employed as temporary for 3 years or more. Temporary workers do not get vacation pay, holidays or have the same insurance as a full time employee. We need these companies to keep their plants open here in the United States. When they close our plants they leave towns and communities economically devastated. The exploitation of workers in the United States and other countries need to be a thing of the past, not part of the future.”
So for this week’s Missouri Mondays, we ask you to show your support for striking UAW members and their families dealing with delayed and reduced income. The following donations are currently the highest priority:
Diapers
Formula
Hygiene items
Pet food
Cat litter
Donations may be dropped off at the following location Mon-Thurs from 7:30 - 4:00:
