07/27/20 - Missouri Mondays - TAKE ACTION! Parson special session and final days until election!
The Governor’s special session on violent crime starts today and is welcome timing for Parson who desperately needs to divert negative national attention away from his reckless comments about sending our children back to school despite the COVID infection and spread risks. In the same interview he also made shocking news that he would “likely exercise his pardon powers if prosecutors bring criminal charges against the St. Louis couple (Mark and Patricia McCloskey) who brandished firearms at a group of Black Lives Matters protesters as they marched past their home.” CNN July 20.
We will have a chance in November to show irresponsible un-elected Mike Parson out the door! In the meantime let’s TAKE ACTION for this special session with our friends at Mom’s Demand Action-MO to help gun violence victims!
EMAIL DEMOCRAT LAWMAKERS:
TELL DEMOCRATS IN THE HOUSE AND SENATE TO URGE GOV. PARSON to immediately utilize existing federal crime victims fund dollars (VOCA funds) to help gun violence victims and survivors and help reduce violent crime. Gov. Parson needs to utilize 10 percent, or $4 million, of Missouri's average annual VOCA victim assistance fund to support eligible gun violence victim service programs. This is federal grant money that Missouri already has access to. Allocating 10% of these funds to support eligible gun violence victim service programs is a meaningful administrative solution to interrupting the cycle of violence!
