07/15/19 - Missouri Mondays - Fight The Ban! Tell Secy Ashcroft to follow the law NOW!

The fight against HB 126, Missouri’s extreme abortion ban continues! As reported previously ACLU-MO has been fighting for a referendum to appear on the ballot this fall to halt HB 126, Missouri’s extreme 8-week abortion ban with no exceptions. Last week the Missouri Supreme Court ruled that Secretary of State Ashcroft acted outside his legal authority rejecting ACLU-MO’s requests for referendum petitions. Despite this ruling, Ashcroft is dragging his feet in the hopes that supporters would not have enough time to gather the required number of petition signatures, denying Missourians their constitutional right to have a say on the extreme abortion ban through the petition process.
So what can we do?
CALL Secretary Ashcroft at (573) 751-4936, and tell him to stop delaying our vote! Demand that he do his job by certifying ballot language by July 18!
