MO SENATE PASSES CLEAN FRA! BILL NOW MOVES TO THE HOUSE!

TELL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE TO PASS THE CLEAN FRA!

Find your state rep HERE: https://www.senate.mo.gov/LegisLookup/Default.aspx

Thanks in large part to the work of a group of bipartisan women senators, on Saturday the Missouri Senate passed the renewal of the Federal Reimbursement Allowance (FRA) without the extremist birth control ban and without defunding Planned Parenthood. Only five Republicans voted against the bill - Senators Onder, Rick Brattin, Eric Burlison, Ander Koenig, and Mike Moon. All other Republicans joined the Democrats and voted in favor of the bill. The Missouri Times

“While access to birth control and Planned Parenthood health centers were protected tonight, the fight for a clean FRA funding bill is not over. This is what it looks like to fight together for the most marginalized people among us. All providers and patients — of Planned Parenthood, nursing homes, hospitals, and other safety-nets — deserve better than to be treated like political bargaining chips. Planned Parenthood Advocates in Missouri and its partners won’t back down, not today, not ever.” Sarah Felts - Planned Parenthood Advocates in Missouri

“The state Medicaid provider tax (Federal Reimbursement Allowance tax - FRA) is a critical component of Missouri’s revenue structure and serves as a building block upon which all public services, including health and education, are funded,” Missouri Budget Project president and CEO Amy Blouin said. “The loss of this revenue source would create a domino effect, destabilizing the entire state budget. The consequences of failing to renew Missouri’s provider taxes would be dire, affecting services far beyond Medicaid, and they would be felt by Missourians in every community across our state.” Missouri Independent June 18 2021
