06/24/19-Missouri Mondays-TAKE ACTION! STAY INFORMED! Help keep abortion care safe and legal!
YOU were instrumental in ending state sponsored sexual assault! After a national outcry against Department of Health and Senior Services requirement of an invasive and medically unnecessary vaginal exam 72 hours prior to abortion care, DHSS rescinded its position. Public pressure does work! But OUR FIGHT HAS NOT ENDED! The Governor and Missouri’s DHSS have weaponized health and safety regulations by rescinding Planned Parenthood’s license to perform abortions. Be aware--The last remaining clinic to provide abortions in the state is STILL OPEN and MAY STILL PROVIDE ABORTIONS per the preliminary injunction ordered by the MIssouri State Circuit Court, but its fate now lies in the court’s hands. We must continue the fight to protect access to safe and legal abortion care for all Missourians.

Soon the ACLU of Missouri will require ALL HANDS ON DECK to help gather signatures to put a referendum for the extreme abortion ban bill HB 126 on the ballot for a vote of the people! Justice Gatson with ACLU-MO will tell us about this effort and fighting for women's reproductive rights via the Missouri ballot initiative process. Cecilia Evelyn Belser-Patton with Missouri Jobs with Justice will also be there to explain how we can use the ballot initiative process to also fight for Medicaid Expansion and Voting Rights! "When Missouri lawmakers ignore the will of the People, the Missouri Constitution lets us petition our government by putting important public policy issues to a statewide vote."
