03/04/19 - Missouri Mondays - Tell Your Senator to VOTE NO! on HB 126 Forced Pregnancy Bill & MORE!

Last week the Missouri House passed House Bill 126, the most restrictive anti-abortion bill in the country forcing women to carry their pregnancy to term with NO EXCEPTION FOR RAPE OR INCEST! In a state that already has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the country this bill would have disastrous effects, forcing Missouri women to remain pregnant and bear even a non-viable fetus! Several amendments were passed and attached to make HB 126 the most severe anti-woman bill to date.
Tell your Senator to VOTE NO! on HB 126, a bill that puts women’s health and safety at risk and violates their right to their own body and future because it would:
Eliminate all abortions if a fetal heartbeat is detected (usually around 6 weeks) except in the case of medical emergencies, which is undefined
Require that both custodial parents be notified of a minor’s pending abortion, regardless of rape or incest
Ban abortion if Down’s Syndrome is diagnosed
Require all practitioners who perform abortions to carry $1 million in malpractice insurance.
Ban all abortions and charge the provider with a felony if Roe v. Wade is overturned
We also ask you to contact your legislator to vote NO! on the following recent CALL TO ACTION bills:

House Bill 445 and Senate Bill 132

SB 132 would change MO Sunshine Law by authorizing “closure of certain constituent and legislative records of members of the General Assembly” and also “modifies provisions regarding fees for access to public records”
Both bills ignore the will of the voters who overwhelmingly passed Clean Missouri Amendment 1 for greater government transparency
