02/22/21 - Missouri Mondays - Protect the initiative petition process, minimum wage and more!

Bills are moving quickly through the MO legislature in part because safely testifying remotely for committee hearings is still not available to an acceptable degree making it much easier for the GOP majority to move bills with little to no pushback.

That is why we need you to take action and call your state representative and senator this week! Find your electeds by entering your address here: https://house.mo.gov/legislatorlookup.aspx

  • NO to harmful changes to Initiative Petition Process - House bills HJR 5, HJR 2, HJR 9, HJR 15, HJR 14, HB 333, HJR 20, HJR 25, HJR 26, HJR 27, HB 556, HJR 22 / Senate Bill SB 149

These bills moving through the legislature would change the initiative petition process, drastically eroding the ability of citizens to take part in and influence their democracy. Call your Representative and Senator and tell them to vote NO to these bills and any harmful changes to the initiative petition process!

  • YES on HB 1083! Let Missourians keep unemployment overpayments! Governor Parson wants to claw back unemployment overpayments through garnishments but Missourians who filed for unemployment in good faith should not be punished for a state error! Call your Representative and ask them to support and vote YES on House Bill HB 1083.

  • NO to minimum wage cut!

House Bill HB 726 would cut the minimum wage back to the 2006 standard that Missourians have already said wasn’t enough.

Stand with MO workers, and tell these reps to vote NO on HB 726:

Nick Schroer 573-751-1470

Danny Busick 573-751-3647

Allen Andrews 573-751-9465

Mitch Boggs 573-751-4077

Chris Brown 573-751-9458

Bill Falkner 573-751-9755

Adam Schwadron 573-751-1452
